Sandfall Interactive hit the ground running after a successful launch of its debut title, and it received nothing but praise from the gaming community. Developing an original IP nowadays is rare and can be challenging, especially in an industry dominated by larger companies and franchises. This did not stop the team of talented developers from making something for the world to cherish.
While the base game of Expedition 33 is already a complete package, the developers have plenty more up their sleeves. Not only are the developers hard at work to make new content, but announcing that it is free is the cherry on top.
Sandfall Interactive Reveals New Content After the First Clair Obscur Game Sold 5 Million Copies Worldwide
After lead writer Jennifer Svedberg-Yen shared her thoughts about the ending, it didn’t take long for the studio to share more positive news about how well the game is selling everywhere else. For a new IP developed by a new studio, it did incredibly well and has now reached the 5 million milestone, which is no minor feat.

Sandfall Interactive took the opportunity to share updates for the game’s future, which also meant new content for free. The game is running smoothly, but fans will take any Expedition 33 updates to make the experience even better.
As per Sandfall Interactive, these are some of the new features you can expect in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33:
- A new, playable environment, taking the characters of Expedition 33 to a brand-new location with new enemy encounters and surprises to discover.
- Challenging, new boss battles for late-game players to overcome.
- New costumes for each member of the Expedition, giving even more customization options for players throughout their adventure.
- New text and UI game localizations into Czech, Ukrainian, Latin American Spanish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian, bringing the total number of supported languages to 19.
- And more to come…
Adding new localization features was something Sandfall Interactive had made some progress on a few months ago. This will allow players to be immersed in the experience with their native language and make the Clair Obscur franchise more inclusive. Other than localization improvements, fans can explore new biomes to face new enemies and collect more stunning outfits for each member of Expedition 33.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
