After two lackluster Call of Duty: Black Ops releases, we’re finally returning to the Modern Warfare franchise with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and unlike Modern Warfare 3, it has Infinity Ward back at the helm. The campaign has been available in early access since October 16th, and we’ve been working our way through it since.

If you’re here, you’re likely struggling to get the No Harm Done trophy in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, one of the earliest you can get during the game’s campaign. Don’t worry, by the end of this guide, you’ll know every step you need to take to grab it quickly and easily.

How to Get the No Harm Done Trophy

After a blockbuster opening two levels featuring unsuspecting South Korean soldiers in Seoul getting invaded, and then an early end to one of the franchise’s biggest villains at the hands of Price in the second level, you’ll be thrust into the other side of the conflict, taking control of a North Korean soldier in the level ‘Following Orders’.

You’ll be looking for a defector, and with minimal information at the beginning of the level, it’s down to you to interrogate the villagers in the nearby village and gain information, and hopefully the defector’s location. Early on in the level, you’ll have to instruct another soldier to break down a house door, and it’s here where you’ll be able to gain the No Harm Done trophy.

You’ll be in a living room with a distraught and scared man ready to be interrogated, and his even more terrified wife hiding in the kitchen. To get the No Harm Done trophy in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, you have to get the information you need without hurting any civilians. That means you absolutely cannot shoot, or strike the husband or wife. To get the trophy without resorting to violence, you need to find several items, which will force the husband to reveal what you need:

  • In the room to the right is a cupboard. Open it and you’ll find a lockbox with a lock on. You can shoot it, or leave it for now. Either way works.
  • Opposite on the left is a bedroom with a cupboard on the wall to the right as you enter. Open that cupboard and you’ll find a book. Being North Korea, this Western book is contraband.
  • In the bathroom nearby is the last item of contraband – a MP3 player with what would likely be banned music.

After you’ve found these three items, return to the man in the central room, and interact with him. You’ll be able to ask him about each item with a press on the D-Pad, or, you can aim at him to intimidate him to tell you more. Whatever you do, if you do intimidate him, don’t shoot!

The order doesn’t matter, but make sure to ask about all three, with the man having what would seem like reasonable excuses for having each, but as the senior officer says, those three pieces are enough for execution in North Korea. This will prompt the man to swap his life for the information, and at the end of the discussion the No Harm Done trophy will pop, and you can move on.

Don’t forget the two notes in this location! One is in the kitchen in the cupboard on the left, and the other is in the lockbox, which you can shoot open.
