The Precinct launched earlier this year, aiming to bring a different approach to the many open-world crime games available. Playing from a top-down perspective, instead of committing the crimes, gamers took control of a young cop on the beat for the first time, and spent more time arresting criminals for assault, vandalism, and many more serious crimes than they ever did, causing mayhem (at least if you could drive properly in the game, anyway).
Now, publisher Kwalee and developer Fallen Tree Studios have shared the latest update for The Precinct. It introduces a raft of new changes that will improve not only the gameplay but also the immersive nature of 2025’s biggest and best policing simulation game. Direct from Fallen Tree Studios:
Summon a tow truck: Players can now summon a tow truck to remove abandoned vehicles, clearing the streets and restoring traffic flow. Offending vehicles can be sent to the City Impound, the Salvage Yard, or if linked to criminal activity, the Forensic Unit for analysis.
Tow Truck Shift Assignment: The update also introduces a new shift assignment, Tow Detail. Players will be given tow objectives around the city, offering a slower change of pace that’s ideal when they need a break from high-octane activities.
Salvage Yard Machinery: The new salvage yard location features heavy-duty industrial machinery:
- A magnetic crane for lifting scrapped vehicles.
- A vehicle compactor for turning them into cubes of metal.
Vehicle Customization – Lightbar: The update also brings a suite of exciting new lightbar configurations to explore and personalise your vehicle, or all vehicles. Players can mix and match with liveries to find their favorite combinations.
Unmarked Patrol Vehicles: Responding to popular demand, the update introduces Unmarked Patrol Vehicles. When combined with plainclothes outfits, they give officers the perfect tools to operate undercover for extended periods. Each vehicle comes equipped with discreetly concealed lights on the dashboard, rear deck, and grille, ensuring authenticity and immersion.
New Clothing Customizations: To support the new Tow Truck roleplay, players can now choose between two additional clothing options: a Reflective Vest and Coveralls. In addition, Kelly has been given a sharp plainclothes outfit, which will be automatically equipped whenever players select this option.
New music track: The update also debuts a brand-new music track from Gavin Harrison, titled ‘Wrecker Blues’, which has now been added to the game’s digital soundtrack.
Along with the update details, Kwalee and Fallen Tree Studios have also released a video detailing all the content update inclusions too. Watch below.
