In the past Alien Isolation was released to a huge amount of praise from the gaming community with its intense gameplay loop and incredible story and graphics, and now Alien Isolation 2 is carrying on the franchise while also improving on these features (somehow) even after the first was so perfect. However, one feature that caught a lot of players’ attention, and especially those who had an Xbox Kinect, was how the Xenomorph was able to hear the player through this gameplay system and react to the actual player in the real world and not just their in-game actions.
Although this feature hasn’t been confirmed to be within the upcoming Alien Isolation 2 game, I did have the chance to play the game, and as for the rather simple question of whether the second game will share this feature, the answer I got was very mysterious.
They Say in Space No One Can Hear You Scream, But in Alien Isolation 2, You’re No Longer in Space

During Gamescom 2026, I had the opportunity to get my hands on Alien Isolation 2 for a good 25-30 minutes, allowing me to explore the world that we will be stuck on while also getting up close and personal to our long-lost friend the Xenomorph, but after playing this demo, I had one important question that I wanted to ask, that question being, can the Xenomorph hear our real screams and such in the game like the first?
One click and you're done. Thank you!
Although I asked this question to one of the representatives of the game at the event, I got a rather cryptic response, as they first acknowledged that within this demo, the Xenomorph cannot hear what is going on within the real world, but they carried on to say that “Yes, No, Maybe” for the upcoming release.
They did mention that for the sequel they have gone above and beyond in order to improve the reactions of the Xenomorph to make it react even further to what is happening in the game, which is something I noticed quite easily, as every noise I made, every glimpse the Xeno caught of me, and so much more made it harder for me to complete the demo, but if this feature does arrive, it will likely cause the fan base to explode with excitement.
However, it is safe to say that this may not be a definitive answer to my question, but it does provide a small amount of hope that one of Alien Isolations‘ most promising features that allows the Xenomorph to not just interact with the game world but interact with the real world and our responses to it could be returning to the sequel.
For now, sadly, we will just have to wait and see regarding the future of the Alien Isolation franchise and this incredible feature, but we can only hope. At the time of publishing, Alien Isolation 2 still doesn’t have a set release date or release window teased.
