Ghost of Yotei Players Biggest Issue with First Game Fixed With a ‘Press of a button’

Ghost of Yotei is scheduled to release in the next few months, and fans are eager to return to this world with a new protagonist and story. While the original game was a breath of fresh air and had a streamlined mechanic for builds and weaponry, it seems like Sucker Punch Productions will double-dip and make it even better.

As a sequel, it makes sense for the developers to improve in areas where they can. This new feature could save both new and returning players time to swap their loadout with the builds they made that best suit their playstyle.

Saving Builds and Loadouts Could Be a Key Feature in Ghost of Yotei

One of the best parts about Ghost of Tsushima is the variety of armor pieces and weapon upgrades. Each item has unique perks that can help you move faster or attack harder. In the sequel, it appears that the customization aspect is one area that will be significantly improved. Players can customize how Atsu will look and pick which armor will suit her best.

In the recent State of Play, Sucker Punch Productions skimmed through details about the upcoming sequel. Atsu could change between different pre-built sets through saved loadouts. Ghost of Yotei will inherit the armor and charms system from the first game, and it was a hassle to pick which charms you want equipped or active. One player caught a glimpse of what could be a pre-built loadout mechanic that allows you to switch between builds in the menu.

On the left side of the menu, it appears that the Square button on the DualSense controller will allow players to go through three different items. These could potentially be builds and armor sets to save players time from rebuilding their loadout for Atsu from scratch. This was a feature that was later added to Ghost of Tsushima and is one of the things the directors carried over to the sequel.

It can be tricky to pick which piece of gear you would want to have on Atsu throughout your playthrough, and the option to save a loadout or build is convenient. Perhaps Sucker Punch Productions will unveil more details in the coming weeks about how it works.

Ghost of Yotei will be released on October 2, 2025, exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
