Dying Light: The Beast has finally been released, and players can fill the shoes of Kyle Crane in a new adventure. Similar to previous entries, this spinoff game still centers around fighting the infected with makeshift weapons, guns, and cardio. However, there are times when you will likely feel fed up and all the rage needs to be unleashed.

While you can do serious damage with whatever you have in your inventory, there is one item in-game that shares a similar function to another iconic weapon in gaming. Techland did not shy away from the influence of Kratos’ combat skills and added a small, yet powerful tribute in his honor that can take on the infected from a distance.

It is worth noting that the Leviathan Axe, better known as the Ciupaga in the game, does not come with ice powers. However, it does have the same feature of recalling it after throwing. Survival is all that matters in the Dying Light franchise, but the developers have gotten creative regarding the weapon system.

You can explore Castor Woods and find different items, but this easter egg is too good to ignore. Similar to how Kratos would use it in the Norse Saga, Kyle can wind up this one-handed axe and chuck it as hard as he can then it will come back automatically. This version acts more as a direct boomerang, and it doesn’t have a manual recall system like in the God of War games, where magic is all the rage.

The Ciupaga solely relies on physics in terms of calling it back to the thrower, which makes sense on paper, considering there is no supernatural element in this universe other than the infected. While it has similar features, the only downer in Dying Light: The Beast is that this axe can break after a few throws.

Hidden Easter Eggs are a Good Sign of Dying Light Coming Back to the Light

Kratos may be the son of Zeus and the Ghost of Sparta; one thing he and Kyle have in common is their violent tendencies. Techland has made plenty of improvements since the last major entry fell short, and it is fitting for the developers to add an easter egg that is made for killing and dismembering.

This Leviathan Axe copy is of legendary quality, and it could come in handy in your fight for survival. The high rarity doesn’t make it better, especially since you can’t repair it like most weapons. Nevertheless, this God of War easter egg is a testament to the franchise’s influence on other developers, and a good nod for fans of both killing gods and zombies in Dying Light: The Beast.

Dying Light: The Beast is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
