Two of the hardest working actors in the video game industry have announced Cresata, an indie game coming to Kickstarter later this year. Starring Ben Starr and Aleks Le, Cresata is inspired by classics like Castlevania and the lesser known Strider, and is a side-scrolling, action platforming adventure, all with a grappling hook thrown in.
Per Rocket Panda Games:
Rocket Panda Games is thrilled to announce a brand-new partnership with Shatter Flask Games and acttil, inc. to bring the long-awaited indie platformer Cresata (formerly Revenant’s Reach) to PC and consoles in 2027. Actor and voice actor Ben Starr (Final Fantasy XVI, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33) joins the cast alongside Aleks Le (Solo Leveling, Street Fighter 6, Demon Slayer), who will also serve as co-producer and casting director.
Rocket Panda Games also announced that the official Kickstarter page for Cresata is now live here, offering fans an early look at the project as development continues toward its 2027 release. The campaign will formally begin funding in late 2026 and will feature a range of quirky, creative, and highly sought-after rewards, along with stretch goals shaped directly by feedback from the Cresata community.
Inspired by classics such as Strider and Castlevania, with a hint of modern retro platformers like Celeste, Cresata is a side-scrolling action platformer that blends fast-paced combat with expansive grappler traversal that’s easy to pick up but hard to master. Wielding Phaedon’s Crescent Claw, players can strike in any direction, unleash powerful Cresata Arts, and tether through gorgeous pixel-crushed environments across uniquely themed biomes. Alongside brutal boss encounters and a relentless quest for revenge, the team is also introducing an anime-inspired twist to the experience featuring stylized 2D character designs.
Joining the production as both the voice of protagonist Phaedon and a co-producer is acclaimed voice actor Aleks Le. Beyond lending his voice to the game’s central hero, Le is actively involved in shaping the project’s creative direction, casting, and performance development. Beginning with the formidable antagonist, he personally selects Ben Starr who will play the Prime Reclaimer.
In Cresata following a treacherous rebellion, Phaedon of Arsica is imprisoned and left for dead. Freed by a twist of fate, he now hunts down those who betrayed him and his homeland. He must stop them before they complete their misbegotten quest to reclaim an ancient power source, kept within the ruins of a cursed metropolis.
Players can now wishlist Cresata on Steam, follow the upcoming Kickstarter campaign, and follow Rocket Panda Games on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Discord or on our official website.
