If you’re a roguelike fiend, but looking for something unique and fresh in the genre, then you’ll be glad to know the time-manipulation Ascend to Zero has launched today, and as well as news of the multiple editions, there’s also some limited time rewards players can grab now. Full details below!

Flyway Games today released Ascend to ZERO, a fast-paced, time-bending action-roguelike about freezing time to fight through the wreckage of a collapsed technological civilization. The game is available now on Steam and across the XBOX platform as an XBOX Play Anywhere title—playable across XBOX Series X|S, XBOX on PC, and XBOX Cloud Gaming—for $11.99 USD. The game is also available day one with XBOX Game Pass. All players can further save by picking up the Deluxe Edition, which bundles the base game with the Supporter Pack and Original Soundtrack at a special discounted rate.
Players freeze the clock mid-fight, read the room, and act before time snaps forward again. Halt a swarm of enemies, pick Tech Chips to upgrade attacks and line up the next combo, reposition out of a corner, then watch the consequences land all at once. Each run reshuffles the threats, the layout, and the upgrades on offer, so no two attempts to save the world play out the same way.
Six playable avatars anchor the roster, each handling differently enough to reward a fresh approach. Players carry what they learn from one run into the next, pushing deeper as they read enemy patterns and sharpen their timing. Mixing avatars with gear, gadgets, weapons, and Tech Chips opens up a wide build space, and the voxel-crafted world, seen from a 3D top-down view, pairs that combat with a score built to match the pace of a fight.
Watch or Play: Earn Exclusive Rewards
To celebrate the launch, Flyway Games is running a rewards event open to players on every platform, offering two paths to the same set of exclusive in-game items: a mint-colored owl pet and the Frying Pan Device, neither obtainable through any other means.
- On XBOX: Players earn the four tiers of rewards directly through their own in-game playtime, with no streaming account required. Anyone playing on XBOX Series X|S, XBOX on PC, or XBOX Cloud Gaming unlocks the items at 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1 hour 30 minutes, and 2 hours simply by playing.
- On Steam: Players earn the identical rewards through Twitch Drops. Viewers who watch participating Ascend to ZERO broadcasts accumulate watch time toward the exact same four milestones (from 30 minutes up to 2 hours) to claim their items. The event runs from July 14 at 12:00 AM PT / 3:00 AM ET through July 26 at 12:00 AM PT / 3:00 AM ET.
