Avatar Frontiers of Pandora New Feature That Should Have Been a Day One Option

Avatar Frontiers of Pandora was the closest way fans of the live-action films can get to becoming a tall blue alien. While the promise of stepping into James Cameron’s world is exciting, the gameplay felt like a rehash of other well-known franchises. Some hardcore fans couldn’t get into the game fully, especially since their perspective is limited to first-person.

The developers took this feedback to heart and have given fans a compelling reason to dive back in and for newer players to try it for the first time. This upcoming update not only comes with a new camera perspective but also a few things that should have been available at launch.

There is no denying that Ubisoft has seen better days in the past, and this Avatar experience could have brought the company some goodwill from the gaming community. Unfortunately, while the game is promising and a welcome addition to James Cameron’s world, there were some shortcomings too difficult to ignore.

Avatar Frontiers of Pandora was released during the holiday season of 2023 and had a mixed reception across every available platform. One of the notable complaints the players had was the lack of options to switch between first and third-person perspectives while playing. Massive Entertainment announced an upcoming update scheduled to be released later this year, and this should have been around during launch.

It is better late than never, but Massive Entertainment threw in extra goodies, such as:

  • New Game+ Mode
  • Quality of Life Improvements.

Returning players will see a change in animation, especially in the new third-person perspective. Players can also replay the campaign with all the gear they accumulated during the initial playthrough. This could give Avatar Frontiers of Pandora the boost it needs to appeal to the larger gaming community.

The free third-person and New Game Plus update for Avatar Frontiers of Pandora will be released on December 5, 2025.
