David Goldfarb Admits Biggest Metal Hellsinger Regret and Teases Sequel

Metal Hellsinger was a bit of a revelation when it was released in 2022. Taking the rhythm mechanics of Guitar Hero and Beatsaber, and applying them in a first person shooter setting was inspired work, and the critics and audience seemed to agree at the time. Throwing in the Doom-like, hell-inspired aesthetic and demons out of the wazoo certainly didn’t hurt either, especially with a kick assistant metal soundtrack. Now though, it turns out Creative Director David Goldfarb has one big regret about the game.

Metal Hellsinger Couldn’t Have Every Singer

Metal Hellsinger‘s soundtrack is one of a kind, with several big names present, including Matt Heafy (Trivium), Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy), Serj Tankian (System of a Down) and many more, but it turns out David Goldfarb would have included more, if he had his way. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Goldfarb said:

To those in the know, these are some impressive names that Goldfarb wants to be included, and would offer another distinct sound to the game. Sleep Token especially have begun to take off in recent years, and Spiritbox have recently released a new album, so interest is at an all time high there as well.

Is David Goldfarb testing the waters with the post, perhaps teasing a Metal Hellsinger 2? It’d certainly be news that we’d all like to hear. Is it in fact the opposite, and he’s subtly hinting that a sequel will never happen?

Metal Hellsinger 2 Please?

In another post on X, Goldfarb also addressed a few gameplay changes he’d make to the game, given the opportunity.

Clearly Goldfarb is well and truly letting his creative juices flow around Metal Hellsinger right now, with new or different artists in mind, as well as new gameplay ideas for a redo. One fan asked the predictable question of if we’d ever see a sequel, to which Goldfarb replied, “never say never”, so maybe the wait for more Metal Hellsinger is coming to an end.
