A game based on ‘backrooms’, Dreamcore is a walking simulator tasking you with exiting the level. It sounds so simple, but a few hours with it will tell you otherwise. Unsettling and unnerving, you’ll find yourself consistently worried about the next corner, wondering over your next decision and questioning whether this is the right door for your entire playthrough, but how long does it take to beat Dreamcore?
How Long Does it Take to Beat Dreamcore?

At the time of writing, there are only two Dreamcore levels, Eternal Suburbia and Dreampools, each a unique experience you’ll be thinking about days after you’ve played. There are at least three more maps coming, although when is unknown, and when they drop, we’ll be updating the below to include them in our estimations.
Dreamcore | |
---|---|
Main ‘Story’ | 3 Hours |
Platinum Trophy/All Achievements | 4 Hours |
With no story to speak of, the first section in the above table indicates the total time taken to complete both of the two levels. Now both could be completed far quicker with a guide, but that’d be ruining the experience for yourself, and it’s definitely not how the game should be played.
The majority of the achievements/trophies will be gained just from playing through the levels, with a couple needed to investigate and explore more, but they’re not strenuous or difficult to obtain. Dreamcore is very much a simple 100%/platinum, for those that want to go for them.
During my review of Dreamcore, I mentioned that the atmosphere is the biggest advantage to the game, especially for Dreampools, and was the main reason I played through each level multiple times. Not to see what I’d missed, but more so to bask in the unnerving atmosphere Montraluz had created. It could and should add some time to your playthroughs.
Dreamcore was released on 23rd January. 2025 and is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Microsoft Windows.
