Elden Ring Nightreign has finally released and brought with it plenty of content for players to enjoy, whether it be the exploration, combat, lore, or the characters we meet along the way. One such character that players can meet and take control of within Elden Ring Nightreign is the character, The Executor, but if you’re here, you’re here to figure out how to use The Executor well in FromSoft’s latest release.
Although Elden Ring Nightreign is a roguelite title allowing for randomized loadouts and unique passive combinations, each character has a unique moveset, allowing for different players to trial different abilities and skills. Due to this, we have written a guide to help players understand how to use The Executor to their fullest potential.
How to Use the Executor in Elden Ring Nightreign
When choosing a character within Elden Ring Nightreign, it may be a difficult decision, as each character has a unique set of abilities that make them stand out amongst the rest. In terms of playstyle, The Executor is a character that many players may shy away from because of its first ability, but are excited about its second.
The reason behind this is down to the fact that The Executor, like every other class, has two abilities. The first ability is his special ability that allows them to draw a unique sword and slow their pace down to a walk. This can be quite daunting in a Soulsborne game, as speed is necessary to avoid incoming attacks and run away from area-of-effect abilities.

Luckily, this isn’t something The Executor would worry about, as when it enters this stance, it allows the player access to a stronger parry system, which may remind some players of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. While using this stance, players can parry essentially any attack that comes their way.
The more attacks the player parries, the better in this state, because after a few parries, the special sword will begin to glow, providing a small boost to damage while using said sword as well as allowing the player access to a special attack. Speaking from experience, this parry ability is an incredible lifesaver if you time it right, as it can easily save your life during stressful situations as well as provide you with a small boost to power that could turn the tide if necessary.
Along with this special ability, The Executor also has an ultimate ability much like the other characters in the game; however, The Executor’s ultimate is incredibly unique, as it allows the player to transform into a large beast for a short duration while being able to perform all kinds of attacks.
There are a few things to note with this ultimate ability that the game doesn’t tell you, such as while using this ultimate form, the player will receive a large boost to their health, but do not let this fool you, as even in beast form, once this health bar depletes, you will be knocked down and will require reviving. However, this health boost was incredibly useful in many scenarios, as it provides the opportunity to heal yourself without the use of a flask if you are very low on health.

Due to the game’s limited HUD, it is very hard to keep track of exactly how long the ultimate ability has; however, once the ability is activated, the ultimate icon on the bottom of the screen does drain to 1/4 full and slowly drains to nothing throughout the ability’s duration. I also found that it tended to last 4 full basic combos, which could deal a large amount of damage, or if you are looking to deal devastating damage but keep a percentage of your ultimate, you can activate the special skill to end the ultimate there and then with one big attack.
As well as being a good ability for dealing damage to bosses, this ability is also very useful in terms of reviving your teammates, as the large area of effect attacks can hit an incredibly large area while also providing a large portion of the revive bar for your teammates. This meant that in a pinch, if you are fighting a Nightlord and need to revive your teammates who are grouped up, you will be able to do it very easily using this ultimate, but keep in mind you will have to be fast, as you are not immune to damage and those bosses do not relent.
Last but not least is The Executor’s passive ability. Again, each character has their unique passive ability that can help turn the tide in battle, and The Executor’s passive ability is very useful as it allows the player to gain a boost once removing a status ailment from themselves, allowing for a boost in stamina and damage.
Although this doesn’t happen very often, it does provide a lot of benefits when it does, so fighting bosses like Wormface, in which ailments are constant and removing them is vital, The Executor can excel.
