Following last week’s announcement of a delay, the GTA 6 trailer 2 has finally dropped. Unlike the first trailer, which was all about building the atmosphere and setting the tone for Vice City’s modern-day return, this trailer shifts focus to the game’s two main characters. The tone is more narrative-driven, with far more dialogue being present here than in the first trailer.
GTA 6 Looks Pretty Incredible From What We’ve Seen So Far
Jason and Lucia take centre stage throughout the trailer, giving the audience a good glimpse of their dynamic, making it abundantly clear that the quality of the story is going to depend heavily on their relationship and whether the chemistry between them is palpable. The trailer finishes by showing the game’s revised launch date of May 26, 2026.
Visually, the game looks incredible; as one should expect from a game with a reported development budget of $1-2 billion. Rockstar clearly isn’t cutting any corners, waiting until the game is properly ready before releasing it. We also haven’t seen any gameplay yet, nor do we get any in this latest trailer, which has left some more impatient fans somewhat disappointed.
However, if you’ve followed Rockstar’s past releases, like the Red Dead Redemption 2 rollout, you’ll be aware that the team tends to wait until much later in the cycle before showing actual gameplay mechanics or systems.
Is There an Ulterior Motive Here?

Some are suggesting that this trailer was released now purely to satisfy shareholders worried about Rockstar’s stock price dropping following announcement of the delay. However, this trailer has likely been ready to go for a while now, Given the production quality and editing on display here, it is unlikely that this was just thrown together at the last minute.
Due to the fact that this trailer gives us more of a glimpse of GTA 6’s narrative, it has already led to a ton of speculation online. Whether you think that the trailer was released to genuinely build excitement, or just buy a little more time to bring the end product up to scratch with the lofty expectations that have been set thanks to the game’s astronomical budget, one thing that can be said for sure is that Rockstar knows exactly how to ensure that GTA 6 remains one of the most anticipated games in the modern era.
