As you explore the open world of The Blood of Dawnwalker, one thing you will likely want to do is ensure that you are upgrading your skills as often as you can to ensure that you are as strong as possible.
In theory this is a very good idea, as having a strong character is very important in a game like this, but sadly there are quite a few limitations that will slow down your rush to a fully upgraded character, and no, it’s not the normal grinds you would expect.
Reading is Actually Important in The Blood of Dawnwalker and so is Your Time
After you get so far within the story of The Blood of Dawnwalker, you will be able to unlock the option to start upgrading your character. Once you unlock this option, your first instinct will be to run to the nearest shrine possible and do so, as this is the location you will have to use in order to unlock skills and passive buffs.
However, before you jump straight into upgrading your character, it would be wise for you to take a beat and think before you choose, as learning new skills does in fact take time, not just real time but the in-game time limit of 30 days.
During the early sections of the game, unlocking these skills will only take one segment of your time in order to learn them, but as the skills get more complicated, they will take more time to learn.
Now this may seem rather simple and easy to manage, but The Blood of Dawnwalker didn’t want you getting too strong too quick even if you don’t care about the time system, as there are quite a few other limitations that will block your path to godhood.

The first block you will come across is the fact that you will need to find books in the game world to learn these skills from, but don’t stress too much, as these books can be found very often. Whether it be looting buildings, dead bodies, or completing quests, you will find maybe a hundred books before you complete your first main objective.
The second block you will come across before you can upgrade to an ultimate vampire is the fact that to unlock stronger vampire skills, you will have to drain a whole lot of blood.
Although it is hard to put a number on how much blood you will need to drink before you will be the strongest of them all, it isn’t overly hard thanks to the various gameplay mechanics provided to you, whether it be using your skill that allows you to teleport behind people and drain them to regain health, the simple act of draining animals, or even allowing your hunger to consume you and biting on those you save and talk to.
Once you manage to surpass these stages and unlock the opportunity to upgrade these skills, you will be well on your way to progressing within the game, but again, due to the book mechanic, you will always run the risk you may never get your build, as the drops are seemingly random and could appear anywhere.
