Two years after its February 2023 launch, Mundfish announces Atomic Heart has hit a frankly incredible milestone, with 10 million players having jumped into the world of the studio’s debut title. With some controversy, mixed reviews, and not all players appreciating the world, it’s an all the more impressive milestone for the studio to have hit, and one many may not have seen coming.
In a press release, Robert Bagratuni, CEO and founder of Mundfish, said of the debut title’s success:
“What started as a dream has become a reality beyond anything we imagined. Thanks to our team’s relentless dedication, bold vision, and unwavering focus on quality, we’ve achieved something truly special. We’re incredibly grateful to our players for their passion and support – it’s their enthusiasm that brought Atomic Heart to life.”
Now, after wrapping up post-launch support, which consisted of multiple updates and three large DLCs, Mundfish has announced another creative venture and a potential change in direction for the studio, at least momentarily.

Named Mundfish Powerhouse, the studio is launching its own ’boutique creative label to support ambitious developers and visionary investors in bringing standout projects to market’. Per Mundfish, the press release detailed its aims and ideas:
“Mundfish Powerhouse is not a publishing arm; it’s a full-scale creative and operational partner, offering:
- Deep production expertise and high-end tools
- A proven, scalable development pipeline
- Hands-on support from concept to launch
- A focus on fewer, bigger, bolder games, built to shake up the industry
“For quite some time, studios and investors have been approaching us seeking support,” said Robert Bagratuni. “We’ve decided to make this direction official. Powerhouse will only partner with projects where we see great potential to make noise. Not just a handful of indie hits, but big and bold games that can set a new standard for quality and creative risk.”
Mundfish Powerhouse is already working behind the scenes with new partners — more details to come.”
Exciting times at Mundfish, and if they can take the lessons learned on Atomic Heart and help other, smaller developers and studios finesse their own projects, it’ll only benefit all of us gamers!
