During the Triple iii Initiative, there was a huge array of games revealed and gameplay trailers released, with Over the Hill being one of those, and we’re so glad it was. Off-roading driving games have become something of a craze recently, and after what we’ve just seen, it’s easy to see Over the Hill adding to that.
Over the Hill Will Make You Grab Your Keys
Funselektor and Strelka Games shared the first official gameplay trailer for Over the Hill, and it looks to every part of a cozy driving game as possible, to boot, you can bring up to three friends along for the drive.
As you can see in the trailer below, not every moment of Over the Hill will be easy to navigate, with off-road mechanics like winches and deep mud included as much as well as ‘lively expeditions’ and an “all-season spectrum of environments inspired by real-world locations”.
- A World of Discovery: Discover portals to travel to new areas, and complete objectives to unlock new vehicles, upgrades, customizations, and cosmetics, with many combinations to try. Who knows, maybe you’ll find some hidden gems along the way.
- Multi or Single Player: Take a friend or go on a solo tour. Challenge yourself, collaborate with up to three friends, or just enjoy the sights – the world is your oyster.
- Pitch Up: Fancy a break? Why not plan your next excursion with your friends?! Set up a campsite for some much-needed R&R after a long day in the elements. Gather your friends around the campfire, grab a hot cocoa, and catch up on the day’s events.
- Adapt and Overcome: Take on the elements with dynamic weather, day/night cycles, and realistic terrain deformation. Find solace in nature, even when you’re stuck in the mud.
- It’s About the Journey: The best stories never start at the end. With so much to explore and uncover, it’s all about the cruise. Complete all the objectives, unlock the many customizations and upgrades, and discover everything the wilderness has to offer. Just take your time and find peace in the minimalistic serenity.
- Capture the Beauty: Grab stills of your favorite landscapes with the built-in photo mode. We can’t wait to follow your journey. You never know what you may discover just over the hill.

Over the Hill‘s release date is unknown currently, but it is tipped to be released in 2025 and can be wishlisted on Steam as we speak.
