Escape Simulator 2 Gameplay Trailer and Demo Goes all Nosferatu On Us

During the Triple-i Initiative digital showcase, a multitude of different games were shown off, including the latest news on Escape Simulator 2, the sequel to indie developer Pine Studio’s 2021 puzzler. While a release date is still unknown currently, the team at Pine Studio has hit us with a double whammy, with both a new gameplay trailer AND the news of a free demo you can go and play RIGHT now.

Escape Simulator 2 Free Demo is Here!

Originally announced in December 2024, fans of the franchise were promised a sequel that would ‘push the limits of the genre further’ according to the game’s Steam page. It also promised a “darker and more mysterious vibe”, although followed that up with the fact “it’s not a horror game”, so what makes it darker? Well as the trailer below and the free demo shows, it’s the levels.

The free demo includes the full level of Dracula’s Castle, one of three levels the game plans to launch with, and it is a dark, atmospheric, and majestic affair that’ll keep you on your toes as you attempt to uncover every clue to escape. It’s all the atmosphere of Nosferatu without the gross corpse-like giant following you around the entire time. You can play the demo purely solo or with up to seven friends, increasing the chaos between you, so make sure you make use of the built-in voice and text chat!

On top of the darker themes, Pine Studio has promised a slew of new features, including Room Editor 2.0, where you can create “create your dream escape rooms” with “even more powerful and intuitive” tools, and a new lighting engine that’ll make your rooms “look more like the official rooms”. There’s even special attention that the Room Editor 2.0 allows for “working stairs!”, which will allow creation on multiple levels.

While there still isn’t a release date for Escape Simulator 2 yet, it can’t be much further away at this point, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for clues and report back to you with what we find when we know more.
