Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Balboa once said, “It’s not about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.” He would be so happy if he had watched Thunderbolts, for it gave us not just The New Avengers but Bob, aka Sentry, aka The Void, because no matter how hard you hit him, he won’t feel a thing. and he just keeps moving forward.
But think about what would’ve happened if the film had come before Avengers: Endgame (2019) had hit the theaters. All we can think about is Thanos’ children; they would’ve become orphans, of course, before he killed them all. Remember that Doctor Strange of Earth-838 defeated the Thanos of their universe single-handedly in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness? Well, don’t get so hyped up; that Strange was literally an abomination; don’t go that way.
However, the Mad Titan sure had gotten another opponent worthy of his respect. Tony Stark had his respect for intelligence; it would’ve been the strength for Sentry. And who knows, they might even have had a chance to finish him off in Avengers: Infinity War (2018) only during the battle of Titan. Or at least they would’ve pulled the Infinity Gauntlet easily with the help of Sentry. Unequivocally, more so than even Captain Marvel, Sentry would have tipped the scales for the Avengers, and it’d been over before it ever really began.
Can Sentry’s Dark Alter Ego in Thunderbolts Defeat Thanos?

This is a bit complex. Sentry’s dark alter ego in Thunderbolts, The Void, sure has a better chance at defeating the Mad Titan. But here’s the catch: only if he was real. You see, Void is more of a dark side of Sentry that comes as a complement to Bob’s Superman-like alter ego. Had the Mad Titan entered the shadow dimension, which is basically a mental realm, he could’ve easily overpowered the dark entity.
Despite the fact that we call him a Mad Titan, he is saner than most. Balanced, just like he feels everything should be. The Void feeds on the mentally weak, and there’s no way anything can prove that to be true of Thanos. Emotional? Yeah, you can say that; otherwise, why would he cry before he threw Gamora off that cliff? In fact, it shows that he knows what’s important (for him, of course), and to achieve that, he would even sacrifice his own kin.
Remember that when Mantis finally caught Thanos off guard, she felt the kind of pain he was enduring during the battle of Titan, and he was fighting with them all while carrying it with him. Even Mantis wouldn’t have held on to him for long, even if the music- and Gamora-loving Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) hadn’t interfered. We all saw how Mantis struggled; no one can deny that.
