Become the Caped Crusader in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight

A brand new LEGO Batman title was revealed during this year’s Gamescom, and it is the ultimate dream come true for fans of the Caped Crusader. Developers over at TT Games have made a name for themselves after back-to-back successful LEGO titles, and this upcoming project is shaping up to be something truly special. With years of stories and an extensive rogues gallery, this could be the most Batman-focused video game yet.

The Batman is arguably the most famous DC superhero, and in general, this game could capitalize on all the hype and respect for this character and turn it into something tangible. The gaming community is being spoiled with yet another exciting superhero experience for 2026.

While LEGO games have a similar structure and DNA, this upcoming title could elevate the genre and make the Batman brand much more recognizable and accessible. Early details revealed that this is a typical superhero title, and the developers aim to live up to the Legacy of the Dark Knight by drawing inspiration from various source materials.

Fans of comic book runs will recognize familiar story beats, and those who grew up with the various Batman films will see iconic moments recreated in all their LEGO glory. It is also revealed that fans will be seeing plenty of familiar names and faces during this open-world experience, and it could potentially be the definitive Batman experience.

Not only will it allow you to fill in the shoes of Bruce Wayne, but LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight can be viewed as a spiritual successor to the Arkham games. Early previews showcased a similar traversal mechanic that involves the grappling hook, which can also be used in stealth and combat.

The Legacy of the Dark Knight Could Feature the Entire Batfamily

Regardless of whether you are a fan of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy or Matt Reeves’ The Batman, this game is perfect for everyone.

  • Jim Gordon
  • Robin
  • Nightwing
  • Catwoman
  • Batgirl

Co-op will also be available in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, and you could team up with your buddy to fight crime in Gotham City. Perhaps player one could be Batman, while the other can suit up as the Boy Wonder or whoever else the developers have in store. Relive and experience Bruce Wayne’s rough origins as an orphan to become the Dark Knight.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will be released in 2026 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Epic Games.
