Architect Life: A House Design Simulator Review (PS5) – One of the Most Relaxing and Creative Games Around

As of today, the new title, Architect Life: A House Design Simulator, is now officially available, and we had the lucky opportunity to try this title out early. While having access to the title, I tried my hand at the career mode that was on offer, as well as the free mode, which allowed me to let my creativity fly.

Architect Life: A House Design Simulator in a Nutshell

Due to Architect Life: A House Design Simulator being all about the creative process of planning and eventually building houses, there isn’t exactly a whole lot of story to experience or any real danger that could be waiting around each corner.

However, there is the opportunity to allow your creative side to flourish, as the title provides all kinds of tools to help give you the best chance of creating beautiful homes.

As I have said above, there isn’t a story within Architect Life: A House Design Simulator, but there is a career mode, which is the closest thing you will get in a title like this. During career mode, I was tasked with taking on different jobs in different locations, most notably the countryside, a city, or a snowy village.

With each of these jobs, they began very small and simple, with not many complicated requirements, but they eventually began to get larger and tougher as the game progressed. Whether it be limited space to build the house in, a limited budget, or specific requests from the customers. There were plenty of obstacles to overcome, and finding ways to overcome them was a challenge I enjoyed.

Throughout my time with Architect Life: A House Design Simulator, I found it to be a relaxing experience, as I was able to clear my mind and simply enjoy the process of building a house from scratch, right down to its furnishings.

However, eventually this did become slightly repetitive, as even though the game did attempt to make each job unique, I found myself following the same route with the houses I designed or even using the same furnishings, paint, and so on. This didn’t change much until the game began adding more and more specifics to the customer’s requests, making the levels a bit more unique, but even that made it more bland as it became more of a checklist rather than a creative exercise.

Eventually, after playing through the career enough, I began to spend more of my time with the free mode, as I could really allow myself the freedom of choice in what I built and how I could build it. Now, this isn’t a critique of the game, but for me, I found myself overwhelmed with options at this point as I wanted to do so many things, but this is where Architect Life: A House Design Simulator shone, as it allowed me to fulfill these ideas and make them a reality.

The Detail is Explosive and Mesmerizing

In a game like Architect Life: A House Design Simulator, the most important thing is how realistic the game looks and feels in terms of putting you in the shoes of an architect. Now, understandably, the game can only take realism so far, but the level it does rise to is very impressive.

Whether it be designing each wall within a house, ensuring each room has enough heating and cooling, or just simply making sure the colors pop, Architect Life: A House Design Simulator does it all, and it does it very well.

One of the best parts of the title is being able to fill each house you design not just with furniture, but with decorations as well. This was incredibly fun for me as I was able to put all kinds of decorations into a house to fill it out as much as possible, ensuring that it felt like a true home someone would want to live in. Or, for those who just want to build houses, the decoration part could easily be skipped, as not everyone wants to put up hundreds of pictures and lights.

This became even better once I got into the free mode, as I was able to create a house that I would like to live in, not just something that would be interesting or funny, but something I would genuinely want to live in one day.

What put the icing on top of the cake for me was the fact that once you have completed a project, two things will happen. First, you will watch the project be built by contractors as they create everything you designed, wall by wall, item by item, until a brand-new house is built. Then you will be able to walk around this new home to see firsthand what you have built.

While doing this, the game will allow you to enter a first-person view so that you can venture into the house you have created again, making you feel the impact of a job well done even more than you did before. For me, this was a pleasant surprise that had me hooked on creating the perfect house as I focused on decorating even more while being extra careful in terms of making silly mistakes.

My Overall Opinion on Architect Life: A House Design Simulator

Overall, my opinion is very positive when it comes to Architect Life: A House Design Simulator, as it allowed me to create the house of my dreams within its free mode while also being able to sit back and relax as I created unique and beautiful homes for the customers within the game.

Although it did become rather repetitive by the end, the overall gameplay was very fun and calming, providing me with hours of relaxing fun.
