With Baldur’s Gate 3 players eagerly waiting for Larian Studios to wrap up their stress test on Patch 8, the final major update for an RPG that has made gaming history, some players are dealing with the wait in very interesting ways.
A recent YouTube video showcases a run in which a player on PC decided to take on the game without choosing a race or class, a challenge that would seem impossible to even the most seasoned Baldur’s Gate 3 fans. An additional layer to the challenge was that this player took on Honor Mode, the game’s hardest difficulty, essentially making his attempt a suicide mission of sorts. But was it?
Larian Studios’ Flagship Title Continues to Showcase Infinite Possibilities
Spoiler alert: it wasn’t! Bouch was able to beat the game using an ingenious combination of items that only someone who was thoroughly well-versed in Faerun’s secrets and mysteries would know of. You can check out the entire run for yourself below.
With no proficiencies or special abilities that stem from a player’s choice of race and class, Bouch’s stellar effort showcases how Baldur’s Gate 3 players are finding new ways to enjoy a game that shows no signs of slowing down despite its 2023 release.
It is also a testament to Larian’s incredible world-building ability considering that Bouch’s run was made possible only because the studio crafted so many different ways for players to take on the challenges that it set for them.
What’s Next for Baldur’s Gate 3?
While Larian continues to add new mods to Baldur’s Gate 3 even as it is busy ensuring that Patch 8’s plethora of features work as intended, the new update is sure to add hours of playability to the game considering that each class that exists within it is receiving a new subclass with unique specializations.

On their own, these new subclasses are sure to bring a multitude of new possibilities to various parts of Baldur’s Gate 3’s story and side missions while also allowing creators like Bouch to find new ways to impress the game’s thriving community of players.
Throwing in crossplay and a new Photo Mode is simply Larian Studios going above and beyond to create an experience that many others are sure to try and imitate in the years to come. But for now, the brains (pun intended) behind Baldur’s Gate 3 can take a bow, knowing that what they have created will withstand the test of time and deserves to be called a Grand Design considering its influence on the gaming world.
