Marvel just dropped a featurette of Captain America: Brave New World that features Anthony Mackie, Harrison Ford, and Kevin Feige. Feige and Mackie are old members of the Marvel family so they know the fun that’s part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) family. The Blade Runner actor was watching the kids play from afar until now. No more. Now Ford will get a taste of it too.
In the video, they take us behind the scenes of the upcoming movie, where fans will get a glimpse of the high-octane action they will witness this February. Harrison Ford looks especially excited about the project and by the looks of it, he really had fun portraying Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, aka Red Hulk, a role previously played by the late William Hurt.
Captain America: Brave New World Lets Harrison Ford Join the Party
During the behind-the-scenes featurette, we get a taster of some of the cooler scenes in store for us from February 14th, including the transformation of Ford into the Red Hulk. Harrison Ford also discloses what made him join the MCU now. He says:
“I have seen actors in the Marvel movies have a really good time, and I thought, well, maybe I should get myself some of that.”
In the beginning, the now-Captain America Sam Wilson saves Ross from an assassination attempt in the White House. Later, we see him turning into the big red monster that brings back memories from the early days of Bruce Banner. Let’s wish he too had the same secret, and he too is angry, always.
This is not the first time Harrison Ford has expressed his love for Marvel films. During the San Diego Comic-Con, when Anthony Mackie introduced him as a member of the family for the first time, he expressed his gratitude by saying:
“I am delighted and I am proud to become a member of the Marvel Universe. I have been watching fantastic actors having a good time… and I wanted a piece of the action. Fantastic! Marvelous, even.
From what we have seen in the available material associated with Captain America: Brave New World, Sam Wilson, and Thaddeus Ross seem to be in harmony, of sorts, but let’s not forget what happened at the end of Captain America: Civil War. Ross threw team Rogers in prison, given they violated the Sokovia Accords. So that’s not really going to be an all-jolly partnership, and it looks like more of that could come to bear if Mackie’s Captain America goes to bat for the imprisoned Bradley after the failed assassination attempt.
Captain America: Brave New World will be released on February 14, 2025.
