Cyberpunk 2077’s Mr Hands’ Alex Jordan Would Give Up Project Orion Appearance on One Condition

Phantom Liberty was a massive departure from what made much of Cyberpunk 2077 work so well, from the genre, story, environment, and of course, the new iteration of Night City’s best fixer, Mr. Hands. Taken over and played by Alex Jordan, he revealed in an exclusive interview with ourselves his two Mr. Hands-centric wishes for Project Orion, the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel currently in development by CD Projekt Red.

Mr. Hands, the Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel Big Bad, or the Big Time Jump?

During a lengthy chat with ourselves about all things The Alters, Cyberpunk 2077, and Natural Six, we asked Alex Jordan the predictable question of whether we should expect him to return in the hotly anticipated sequel:

I would love to be back for Orion. It’s a weird one, right, because from a performer’s perspective and also a fan of the world – I absolutely adore Cyberpunk 2077 so much -, I would love to be back, hell yes I want to be back in that world, I want to be playing this character again. I would want to see a world in which Mr. Hands is the big bad. That’s such a cool thing with this guy who has these machinations, these grand plans and you know all of the Fixers, he seems to have the biggest plans, so that would be super cool.

While Jordan did well to avoid confirming anything, it did in fact give us an insight into what the next Mr. Hands appearance could look like. The world of Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty is filled with nefarious characters with ambivalent motivations, and with Project Orion hitting development now support for the original is slowing down, this may be exactly what we need.

Even more so when the Phantom Liberty fixer ended up being one of the focal points of the expansion, both from a narrative standpoint and with critical/fan reception in mind. Give us that Mr. Hands bad guy turn, which feels only a step away.

Jordan did continue though, and admitted his own vision of the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel wouldn’t actually include his own character:

Equally, as a fan of the game and a player, I would also love to see Night City 100 years on jump forward to 2177 that would be super cool as well, so I don’t know if they will have Mr. Hands back in it, but I will always be ready and willing to jump in with my full heart.

A time jump isn’t wanted just by Jordan however, with many fans wanting to see the natural evolution of Night City, and with it, the new technologies that’ll be available to us to use. Whether we see Mr. Hands again is anyone’s guess, and Project Orion’s early development means story details are non-existent, but whether he turns up again or not, we think Alex Jordan will be jumping back into Night City alongside all of us when it releases.
