How to Beat Caged Grisha in Mortal Shell 2

After many hours within Mortal Shell 2, you will have likely made your way towards the Southeast Corrupted Gate in the lower half of the game world, where you will need to overcome a few different bosses in order to progress further into the game and ensure you can finish the game.

One of these bosses that you will come across will be the Caged Grisha, which won’t take too long to find, but for those who have explored the game world quite thoroughly, you will remember this boss from the other versions that appear throughout the game, whether it be the standard Grisha, the Strange Grisha, or the Rabid Grisha Pack.

How to Find Caged Grisha in Mortal Shell 2

Once you reach the Corrupted Gate at the southeast corner of the world, finding the Caged Grisha might take a bit of work, but it is worth it, as you will begin the hard challenge of beating this Corrupted Gate and claiming plenty of Ova to help upgrade yourself to new levels of power.

After you arrive at the Corrupted Gate, you will have a fair bit of running to do before you arrive at the beacon that the Caged Grisha is located in. First, you will have to run past all the snowy tundra that is in your way with all the resurrected corpses lurking around, as you head straight forward in search of a teleporter that will guide you to a group of Grisha hunters.

Now that you have found yourself by the Grisha hunters, you will need to continue down the rather straightforward path until you reach a prison with enemies that are obsessed with ranged attacks and small spaces. Although this looks confusing, the path is still very straightforward, with only one clear path to go down until you finally reach an outside location where the beacon resides; you will know you’re there by the frozen lake.

You are now halfway to finding the Grisha; the next part is rather simple and can impact the rest of the Corrupted Gate, so make sure you do this beacon, as it isn’t one to miss. Within the entrance to this beacon, you will come across a room with some large arms creating bridges and doors between different locations; sadly, only one will be open for now.

The path that is open is the door on the right; if you follow this path, you will eventually come across a dead body with a strange glowing crown on its head known as the Immaculate Crown, which allows you to move the arms throughout the Corrupted Gate to open new paths.

Now that you can open new paths, head back to the central room where the door in the middle can now be opened. This is where the Caged Grisha can be found, but this entire room is the boss room, so do not go in unprepared.

How to Beat Caged Grisha

If you have battled the other forms of Grisha in Mortal Shell 2, you will be very well prepared for this boss fight, as with the other versions, the attacks are pretty much the exact same, but this version of the Grisha applies a frozen status upon hitting the player.

Although this version of the Grisha is quite similar to the others, we still have a build that might help you during your fight with it, as it does have increased damage, more health, and the frost status that can easily throw a spanner in the works, so here is the build we used to beat the Caged Grisha.

  • Eredrim Shell – Location Here
  • Black Needle – Location Here
  • Untarnished Seal.
  • Forgotten Crossbow.
  • Retribution Stone – Increase Riposte Damage
  • Auspicious Stone – Improves Melee Critical Damage
  • Marksman Stone – Improves Ranged Critical Damage
  • Parasitic Stone – Gain stacks of Leech after every kill
  • Volatile Fragment – Enemies explode after being killed by a ranged attack
  • Hand of Rock – Unleashes a swarm of relentless projectiles
  • Acolyte’s Stone – Perform a charge light attack

Just like the other versions, we recommend that you parry most of the Caged Grisha’s attacks in order to break its poise, allowing you to do probably one of the funniest, most gruesome, and most painful ripostes in the game in which you carve your seal down its back before giving the Caged Grisha a rather unusual temperature check using your seal and the wrong end of the Caged Grisha’s body.

As we said above, this version of the Grisha also applies the frozen status, but not just by hitting the player; it also does small slams that create an AOE effect on the floor that, even if you aren’t there when the attack lands, can still affect you and cause you harm, slowing you down and making it harder to fight back.

Now that you have all the skills and ideas you will need in order to beat the Caged Grisha, it is time to jump into the fight and do your best to take on this gruesome monster, and if you manage to do so, these are the rewards you will be claiming:

  • Grisha Remnant
  • 10,000 Gloom

It may be clear to see, but once you defeat the Caged Grisha, do not leave the Corrupted Gate just yet, as there is a lot more to explore with dozens of things to find hidden further within.
