Welcome to Tishina’s Confessor, a boss in Mortal Shell 2 that has more aura than most entire Soulslike games do. If you’re struggling, then we’ll make your life much easier, and by the end of this guide, you’ll be easily beating Tishina’s Confessor and moving onto the final big bad of the gate.
Tishina’s Confessor Location in Mortal Shell 2
Like the Gloombound Legion before him, Tishina’s Confessor is located in the Western-most Corrupted Gate, right next to the Nochte Beacon where Vrago was. If you’ve already fought the prior two bosses mentioned, you’ll have already found the gate, but if not, you’ll need to find your way here. Using the traversal gate below the lake housing the Bloodcursed Lithopod, head up the hill, then through a gap in a wooden fence afterwards. Follow the path and jump up the launcher, before crossing a wooden bridge on the right, again. Following this path directly takes you to the Nochte Beacon and the Corrupted Gate.
After you’ve worked your way through the Corrupted Gate, beating the Gloombound Legion, you’ll have to navigate your way across castle ramparts, making your way past archers and knights. You’ll also run into one of those big, ballooning, rolling enemies down a narrow walkway. You can fight, or just as easily, run away. Shortly after that, you’ll end up at the next Beacon, which doesn’t house any bosses, and from there you’ll see the arena where Tishina’s Confessor is. A short jump through the traversal gate and you’ll see them right in front of you.

How to Beat Tishina’s Confessor in Mortal Shell 2
As mentioned, Tishina’s Confessor has some serious aura about them. Looking like a modern-day Sauron, he’ll immediately walk towards you as soon as you land. There are multiple different strategies you can employ to beating Tishina’s Confessor, but first, here’s my build so you can see how you compare.
- Eredrim Shell – Location here.
- Veteran’s Battle Axe – Location here.
- Troubadour Lute.
- Vatra Seal.
- Marksman’s Stone – Increases crit chance of ranged weapons.
- Retribution Stone – Increases Riposte damage.
- Deadeye Stone – Increases ranged crit damage.
- Berserker Stone – Increases damage output the lower your health is.
As with other boss fights, I can say with some certainty that the Troubador Lute is almost a cheat code to making things too easy. However, you may not have it, use it, or want to make things easy. I’d suggest that before you even jump over the gap to the boss arena, you use an infusion that’ll add some sort of elemental effects to your weapon. Any additional damage helps, after all.
Soon as you land, you can use the Lute to stun and confuse Tishina’s Confessor, or, if you’re using another ranged weapon, use that instead. He’ll take his time slowly walking towards you, so this is a good time to use both your ranged weapons and summons. For example, having beaten the Rabid Grisha Pack, I had full familiarity with the Grisha Remnant, allowing me to summon two Grishas to help in the fight.
Tishina’s Confessor will telegraph his own attacks and combos, making life simple for you. Make sure to Harden/Parry as he hits, otherwise he’ll quickly wreck you and your shell (see the picture below).

If you’re using the Lute, or if you parry/harden enough, and cause break on Tishina’s Confessor, make sure you’re using Riposte attacks, as they will take a huge chunk away. In this fight, I didn’t dodge very much, mainly because of the type of attacks he used, he wasn’t fast enough to need to. He also lacks a wealth of health, meaning a few hits, Riposte attacks, and Grisha attacks will quickly put him on the back foot, and soon after, beaten and dead.
After being Tishina’s Confessor, you’ll receive the following rewards for your trouble:
- Gloom
- Glimpse x 2
And that’s that, now you know how to beat Tishina’s Confessor in Mortal Shell 2, and onto the next, and arguably hardest boss in the game (so far), the Nameless Captive.
