As with any Soulslike, your health in Mortal Shell 2 is limited, and not as high as you’d like. That’s why you’ll want to go about increasing it as soon as possible. Again, similarly to other Soulslike games, Mortal Shell 2 doesn’t fully explain how to do this, but by the end of this guide, we’ll have you up to speed in exactly how to increase your health in the game, and how to do it quickly.
How to Increase Your Health
The first few hours of the game will be a longer prologue and tutorial than most, and the game won’t fully get started for a while. However, once you’re past that, and into the open world as a whole, you’re able to explore in any direction that you so wish. In doing so, you’ll find many things on your travels, including huge bosses, a number of weapons and sidearms, multiple different shells with different skills, and of course, lots of different items that have different benefits, two of which are directly linked to your health.
To increase your health, but also the efficiency of your health potions, you’ll need two items:
- Synaptic Vessel
- Revered Gland
You can find these all over the map, although surprisingly few of them from beating the game’s biggest bosses. At the end of Beacons, dungeons, hidden away in corners of the map you’d likely never think to explore, and in chests, it’s always worth taking a few more seconds to look, as you never know exactly when you’ll encounter a Synaptic Vessel or Revered Gland.
Once you have these items, at first, you’ll only need one, make sure to head to your nearest Beacon and select Mether’s Breath, which allows you to upgrade the efficiency of your health potions, as well as increasing the efficiency of said health potions. You start off relatively weak, so it’s imperative you find them and use them as soon as you can.
As you explore and find bigger, stronger and harder-hitting bosses, you’ll realise that these seemingly useless items you’re picking up early on have a benefit to them, and should be used post-haste. Now, at least, you know what they are, what they do, and why you should be using them, and hopefully, you’ll fully understand how to increase your health in Mortal Shell 2.
