After months of rumors and leaks, Days Gone Remastered will launch on the PlayStation 5 and PC platforms next month. Players who finished the game and achieved the platinum trophy will be thrilled to know that their trophies will automatically pop once they import their saves. This is a convenient feature, especially for players who have already finished this massive open-world game, and only after the free upgrade and trophies.
This should have been the standard for other first-party Sony titles from the start of this console generation. This is a massive win for trophy collectors, and a slap to Guerrilla Games for the fiasco when the studio re-released one of its most popular games a few months ago.
Trophies Will Automatically Unlock if You Import Your Save to Days Gone Remastered

Trophies may not mean much to the average player, but this system means something. Days Gone Remastered has been a long time coming and it is great to see this game finally get the remaster treatment that most first-party games received in the past few years. Sony is well aware that there are millions of used physical copies all over the world and decided to give loyal fans the privilege of paying a measly fee of $10 to acquire the better version rather than paying for it at full price.
If you import your save, yes.

The game developers confirmed that trophies will automatically unlock once players import their saves from their older consoles. This feature saves them time from replaying the game from start to finish and redoing time-consuming tasks. It is safe to say that this decision increased the game’s chances of having a successful launch.
While this is a welcome surprise for some players, others prefer the game to follow the Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered route where their trophies are left behind despite having a 100% save file.
That defeats the purpose of getting the game now. 🤷🏾♂️

Nevertheless, players who went through hell and back don’t deserve to go all through that again, or should at least be given a choice.
Guerrilla Games Dropped the Ball With the Trophies in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
On the same subject, Guerrilla Games may have underestimated how much the player base values their trophies over a game that took them hours to complete. Horizon Zero Dawn is another massive open-world game, and most trophies require work and effort. It would have been a nice treat if the developers offered the players the option to choose what to import, whether their saved files or trophies.

Perhaps the outburst was a wake-up call for Sony Interactive Entertainment, and this will be the standard moving forward. Players who finished a game once and have a save file they wish to carry over will also be entitled to the new upgrades and trophies.
Some are fine with their trophies being left out and it is a perfect excuse to experience a game again with all the new bells and whistles; however, not everyone feels the same way. Hopefully, Sony will figure out a permanent solution to the trophy problem. Bend Studio gave the gaming community another reason to be excited about this epic zombie-apocalypse adventure, and this is an unlocked trophy for the developers.
