If you somehow missed it, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has a PS5 release date. It was released in late 2024 on the Xbox Series of consoles to huge acclaim, and ever since it was announced that it’d be following other Xbox first-party games across to PlayStation, gamers have been patiently waiting to hear more. Well, we have some good news, and some bad news, depending on your viewpoint.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s Disc Problem
In this day and age of physical media seemingly being phased out, it didn’t come as a shock to many that the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Collector’s Edition was missing a physical disc upon its release on Xbox. That’s still the case even now. Many assumed it would be the same for the eventual PS5 release, but after the announcement, it seems Bethesda and MachineGames have a different idea, as the PS5 Collector’s Edition of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle comes with all the same items as its Xbox counterpart, but instead of a code, it comes with a physical disc as well.

This isn’t a huge problem for many, as a considerable chunk of gamers now rely purely on a digital-only library anyway, but it does bring up the question as to why an Xbox First-Party video game is seemingly offering more to PlayStation gamers, and such a massive, flagship title no less. Popular and accurate leaker billbil-kun did reveal that even with the disc, the need for a download still exists, however:
To address the most frequently asked question, both the Standard & Premium Editions of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will include a PS5 disc. HOWEVER, an Internet connection will still be required to download the game and its content.
Whether a disc is important in the final product or not is by the by, as come April 17th both Xbox and PlayStation gamers alike will be able to enjoy the latest adventure for Indiana Jones and one that isn’t a critical miss like his last few films.
