Nintendo Direct 2026 is currently in full swing, with announcements of new games, remakes, remasters and ports coming all over the place. Now, Persona developer ATLUS have joined the list with its own announcement of its critically and commercially successful Metaphor: ReFantazio title launching on the Nintendo Switch 2, later this year.
Per ATLUS:
During today’s Nintendo Direct, ATLUS announced that Metaphor: ReFantazio, the acclaimed fantasy RPG, is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on November 12, 2026. A Steelbook Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 will also be available for a limited time at game launch.
In Metaphor: ReFantazio, players must rise above fear as they enter a vast fantasy world that is fraught with unsettling mystery. Thrust into a kingdom on the precipice of ruin, players will need to overcome obstacles and forge bonds with allies in order to control their destiny.
Metaphor: ReFantazio received rave reviews and sold one million units on launch day, making it ATLUS’ fastest-selling game to date. The RPG was one of the most critically acclaimed games of 2024, with a 94 Metacritic score and The Game Awards wins for Best Role-Playing Game, Best Narrative and Best Art Direction.
Nintendo Switch 2 players can dive into this acclaimed epic fantasy on November 12. Metaphor: ReFantazio is currently available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
