Phantom Blade Zero

Phantom Blade Zero may not be a Soulslike, according to S-Game, but it definitely shares a few features and mechanics with the genre. One such mechanic is the hard-to-beat, optional-and-hidden bosses in the game, and that’s perfectly encapsulated by Hua, Deadly Betrothed. You might find her by accident, or your might just follow your instincts…

You’ve just met and killed the Ruthless Archer group, completing the Purge the Sect Tale, you’re searching for The Hunt, Hunter of the Order, and now you’ve come across a huge Sha-Chi Furnace in a place that you’ve been constantly warned not to go to. Typical Phantom Blade Zero things. If you’re here, you’ve found…

You’ve made it to the Outpost! The village here is littered with people that can help and hinder you, and one such person is the Archer sat on the rooftop in the middle of it. He’ll tell you about his former crew and their dastardly doings, and ask you to go and Purge the Sect,…

After interacting with the Outpost Courtyard Bell,…

Phantom Blade Zero finally has given us a boss you’re not all-but-guaranteed to beat on the first try. Sure, Zuo Shang was an opening tutorial, and The Hunt, Hunter of The Order is a two-parter, but when you come up against Jagged Steel, The Frenzied Brute in Phantom Blade Zero, it’s beginning to get serious….

You’d think Phantom Blade Zero would let up a little after it’s intense and manic opening, but nope, here we are in another boss fight, this time against The Hunt, Hunter of the Order, and it couldn’t be more different than the one you just finished against Zuo Shang. Don’t worry though, as different as…

Phantom Blade Zero tells the story of Soul, a man with only 66 days to live after a deal with The Flesh Sculptor, a being that saved him from his imminent death. The game doesn’t mess about with introducing you to the world, its main characters, and its combat systems. If you’re here, you’re likely…
