Led by Alex Jordan, The Alters is almost here, after one delay that worried many fans, but now, we not only know the release date, but we have news of an incredible physical edition of the game that we can’t wait to pick up as soon as possible.
The Alters Signature Edition is a Thing of Beauty
It’s no secret that the gaming industry is hurting in multiple ways right now. From developer and media layoffs to the slow death of the physical market, it’s not a great time to be involved with the biggest entertainment sector on Earth.
However, it seems the teams at both Silver Lining Direct and 11bit Studios are doing their bit to help stave off part of that at least, with the reveal of not only a physical edition of The Alters (a rarity for any AA game these days), but also the fact that it’s filled with collectibles and goodies that fans of the game will love – plus a sleek box and sleeve for the game.
With The Alters Signature Edition, every who purchases it will receive the following items:
- 4-Pin Set – Flaunt your allegiance with sleek pins featuring in-game logos.
- Sci-Fi Sticker Sheet – Customize your gear (or your spaceship) with thematically designed decals.
- Molly Keychain – Carry the iconic cloned sheep with you, she’s more than just a mascot, she’s part of the crew.
- Pierogi Maker – A heartfelt (and tasty) tribute to the dev team’s fuel of choice during development.
- Lenticular Art Card – A dynamic piece of collectible art from The Alters, shifting perspectives, just like the game itself.
As well as the above, each Signature Edition of The Alters includes an Oversized Collector’s Box with exclusive artwork. With these items chosen to “echo the emotional gravity and sci-fi intrigue”, it’ll be interesting to see how they fit into the wider experience of the game when it releases.
For those looking to get their hands on the Signature Edition, head over to Silver Lining Direct, where it can be bought for £49.99 (PC), or £54.99 (Xbox/PS). As for why the console editions cost more, there hasn’t been an explanation as of yet, but we’ve reached out to them for comment/explanation.
The Alters will be released on June 13th, 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The PC Signature Edition drops on the same day, but both PS5 and Xbox fans will have to wait until July 18th.
