The Last of Us Season 2 has finally reached the moment where Ellie and her friends embark on a dark path, similar to the path Abby walked in the prologue. There is no denying that the live-action adaptation perfectly translated Joel’s death, and the showrunners made it even sadder with a few creative changes from the original version. However, some fans are already excited for the day to see one character’s death on screen.
Some Fans Are Excited to See Characters Die on Screen in The Last of Us Season 2

Violence and rage are the main focus of The Last of Us Part 2, and it is interesting to see certain events reimagined for the live-action adaptation. Death is always on the table in this franchise, and it is only a matter of time before certain characters meet their fate as predetermined by the source material. Craig Mazin serves as the showrunner again and is determined to adapt the main story faithfully. Players who have experienced the controversial sequel once will see the same outcome with a few changes.
The casual audience didn’t expect to see Pedro Pascal’s Joel beaten to death at the hands of Abby so early on in the second season, which left some fans traumatized and in a state of shock. It is worth noting that Naughty Dog’s goal for the sequel was to highlight how hatred can change a human, and this is a path that both Ellie and Abby have walked.

Before episode 2 ended, Ellie threatened the Salt Lake crew that their days are numbered, similarly to the game, and she kept her word by killing Abby’s friends one at a time. In the case of Danny Ramirez’s Manny Alvarez, his video game counterpart’s death was both shocking and satisfying. The HBO adaptation made a few creative changes, like decreasing Abby’s crew and giving other characters more to do. Perhaps Manny’s death will be different from the game.
There Is No Shortage of Comeuppance in The Last of Us
The television show can’t be a perfect one-for-one adaptation from the original game, and the first season had to cut a few corners to save time and budget. Perhaps we will see certain characters die differently, but it would be a shame not to give Gabriel Luna’s Tommy his iconic revenge moment from the game.

Most audiences are squeamish about violence and gore, which is an added challenge for the HBO team to adapt graphic visuals from what Naughty Dog made a few years ago. There is a strong likelihood that it will be reduced or changed altogether, but fans are excited to see how the Salt Lake crew gets what is coming for them.
If the first season had action and violence, The Last of Us Season 2 will dial it to a new level. Future episodes will show how much the survivors will adapt and change after an unforeseen tragedy strikes, if it follows the second game in the series.
