If you are a fan of the noir detective genre, we have good news for you, as the upcoming game Obsidian Moon has just released a new demo for gamers to enjoy during the Steam Detective Fest. During this demo, players will be able to experience the first case the game has to offer, as well as the various features that are present.
Obsidian Moon’s Demo Gives Gamers a Small Taste of the Unique Detective and Text-Based Gameplay Loop
As stated above, Obsidian Moon has already released its first demo for players to enjoy during Steam’s Detective Fest, allowing players to jump straight into the game’s story with an introductory case that acts as a tutorial as well as the game’s first official case.
During this demo, players will be able to experiment with all kinds of mechanics within the game as they search for the criminal responsible for a grisly murder. Whether the player interrogates persons of interest, searches for clues, or pays their bills to keep the lights on, players are able to experience all of this within the first mission.

Along with being able to attempt this first case, gamers are even able to see the text-based story that Obsidian Moon has to offer as they experience the opening scenes of the game’s story and even meet some of the characters that could likely stick with them throughout the game’s story.
Although there is only one case for players to experience within Obsidian Moon, that doesn’t mean that there is little to do, as there are dozens of clues to discover through various means. Whether that be interrogations, sending items off to the lab, checking records, or more, don’t expect to have all the time in the world, though, as you will be investigating on the clock and on the dime.
If you are even looking to add a bit of atmosphere to your noir detective setting, the demo also offers players the option to activate noir mode, turning the game into a traditional monochrome style, adding to the aesthetic and mood of the game.
So if you are looking for a relaxing yet challenging detective experience, then grab your revolver, dust off your notepad, dim the lights, and enjoy this grizzled noir-detective demo that is Obsidian Moon.
