While the DMZ mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 was created to be played as a party of three, there are many ways to play alone and enjoy the matches without a restless party telling you what to do. The opportunities in DMZ are vast, and there are many missions to try by yourself. Here is a guide to the best ways to face this mode alone.
Some Story Missions Are Very Accessible

Among the different modes and missions you can complete in DMZ, there are story missions. These particular objectives are straightforward and pretty quick to complete, with few distractions. There are some missions, such as Silent Ledger, that are recommended to be played with a party.
However, Operation Critical Extraction and Shopping Hacks can be completed without a party. They will be trickier to do, but they are not impossible at all. The objectives in these missions are also very straightforward, without too many deviations. If you play your cards right, you can also get some important loot along the way. Another thing to keep in mind is that there are no bosses or lieutenants to defeat in these two missions, so they are easy to complete.
Try Some Quick Dynamic Operations

Among the other modes you can explore, there is Dynamic Operations. This mode gives you a random objective to fulfill that won’t be too difficult to complete, along with a reasonable reward once you finish it. This mode can be played alone, but be careful of enemy operators who can appear at any moment.
The recommended strategy is to go for the target and then extract. If you hear gunshots and notice NPCs reacting to another player, go in the opposite direction so you can avoid losing all your loot and extract successfully.
Try to Always Stay Near an Extraction Point for Emergencies
When playing alone, it is very important to survive the match and reach an extraction point to avoid being killed by an operator or simply being overwhelmed by enemies. So, check your objective and always keep in mind how quickly you can access a nearby exfil point. It is also recommended to get a vehicle so that if things start to go badly, you can drive to the nearest extraction point.
Whenever you enter Free Roam or Dynamic Operations, you’ll start near the edge of the map, so you’ll probably have to travel a considerable distance to reach the nearest exfil point. That is why having a vehicle with you is so important.
Equipment That Will Help Your Solo Experience
When starting a solo match, try to have a big backpack and a medkit. With this equipment in your gear, you can revive yourself several times before being killed completely. It is also recommended to get a defibrillator so you can revive yourself quickly and keep fighting until your last breath.
In a solo scenario, your worst and most deadly enemies will be the other operators on the map. So, the best way to survive is to get two-plate armor, a big backpack for loot, and healing equipment. These items will at least make your survival a little more achievable.
Do Not Get Greedy
The most important thing when playing a successful solo DMZ mission is to never get greedy. If you complete your objective and can already extract, do it. Do not engage more enemies who could attract more attention, and do not loot without a reason. Just exfil and survive to get the reward, no matter how small it might be. Reviving levelled-up operators can be very expensive, and you can lose all your progress by dying too many times.
Visit the Gunsmith
Another good way to avoid being detected is to use a silencer and a throwing knife. This equipment will help ensure that you are not discovered as quickly. You will not appear on the radar when you kill an enemy with a suppressor attached to your gun. This equipment can be purchased at the Gunsmith for almost every weapon.
In most cases, it will cost you some recoil control, but it will conceal your location so you can enter almost every place without being detected. This also works with the throwing knife, allowing you to kill enemies from behind with the knife. It is another way to avoid attracting the attention of enemies in the area.
Not being detected will make your solo mission go more smoothly and make it easier to reach your goal and successfully exfil from the map.
