Along with the vast number of improvements to DMZ mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, there are also many new additions to keep on your radar. One of these additions is traits, divided into three skill trees that provide specific and permanent upgrades for your operator.
Every time you survive a mission and successfully extract, you will earn XP, level-up rewards for DMZ, and trait points. These skills will be very useful in combat and will always remain with that particular operator. Here is all the information you need to choose the best traits during the early levels of DMZ.
What Are the Traits in DMZ in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4?
These traits work as pseudo-perks in DMZ mode. With every successful extraction, you’ll earn XP and a trait point to use. The operator you choose will earn the XP and traits, but if you die, you’ll lose that specific operator. However, you’ll be able to rescue that operator with money.
If this operator completes many successful missions, they will level up, gain more traits, and become more expensive to rescue. This is always measured according to the experience that operator has. With traits, you can choose from many abilities that will help you have a better experience on the battlefield and avoid getting killed easily.
There are three different skill trees to choose from. One is called Warfighter, which focuses on ammo, gaining advantages with lethal and tactical grenades, and other benefits. Then you have the Scout tree, which focuses on loot, earning more money, and other advantages. Finally, there is the Survivalist tree, which offers skills that are important for reviving, healing yourself more effectively, and other similar upgrades.
Focus on the Survivalist Tree
The first trait you should unlock is Metabolism from the Survivalist tree. This will let you regenerate health after being revived when you have been downed. Little by little, your health will be restored to full with a few patch-ups. Then, you’ll need to go for the Autofill passive trait. This one will automatically replenish both your last lethal and tactical equipment after a while.
Continuing with the Survivalist tree, your next choice should be Faster Revive. With this trait, you’ll take less time to revive yourself or a teammate. This also means you can spend less time getting back into the fight. It’s a great combination for focusing completely on your health and trying to survive as much as possible in this mode.
Other Early Combinations You May Try
You can start with the Scout tree and use the Investor trait, which will help you earn a little extra money each match. This strategy can help you make money quickly to save up for new weapons, attachments, or even to rescue your operator later. Then, you can continue with that tree and unlock the Stealthy trait, which will let you kill more enemies without attracting as much attention from the death squad.
Then, you can continue with the Survivalist tree until you reach the third row. Instead of choosing Faster Revive, you can go for Consumable Duration, which will significantly improve the duration of your consumables, such as bandages. This will be very useful for maintaining your health with the help of bandages, something you’ll find is much-needed in the latter Operation’s like Shopping Hacks.
Be aware that you can only choose one trait per point, and you can only choose one trait per row in each tree. If you choose one, the trait right next to it cannot be selected.
