The new and improved version of the DMZ mode in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 has a ton of missions to complete and explore. There are also story missions tied to a chapter of the mode’s story, with objectives to fulfil and rewards to earn.
In this guide, you’ll get a step-by-step walkthrough on how to complete Operation Critical Extraction in DMZ in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.
How to Complete the Operation Critical Extraction Story Mission in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 DMZ
Assuming you’re well versed in the DMZ mode of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 (if not, check here for some help), you’ll be deployed near Mirae General Hospital in the northern area of Hajin City. You’ll be about 300 meters from the building, so you can walk straight there. Once you arrive, your objective is to extract an HVT (High-Value Target). This person is recovering on the upper floors of the hospital, and you need to get them out through the roof.
It could be said that the hardest part of this mission is entering the hospital because it is heavily guarded, and there’s even a turret waiting for you to show your face. This part is almost impossible to complete stealthily, as there are too many enemies all around the perimeter. So, your best option is to rush in as fast as you can with several armor plates until you reach the hospital entrance.
Entering the Building
Once you’re inside the building, it will also be full of enemies, but you can handle them while moving to the right toward the stairs. You should keep going up until you reach the floor where the HVT is located. After reaching the target’s floor, you’ll find another turret waiting for you at the end of the hallway. So, your best course of action is to slide as close as you can to the turret and kill the soldier who is firing it.
Luckily for you, if you kill that soldier, no other soldier will take over the turret. You can even use it to kill some enemies coming from the other side. A great tip we can give you is to enter every empty room to grab medical items that you can later use to craft medkits in the 3D printer. A little further to the right, near the turret, you’ll find the HVT waiting to be rescued in a bed. You’ll sedate the target, and then you’ll need to carry the hospital bed up to the roof to get extracted.
Wheels On
The developers really thought about this mission. The bed will move almost automatically; you only need to push it a little, and it will go in the direction you need to take. At every step, you’ll find new enemies to kill while advancing with the bed. In the first section, you’ll need to reach an elevator. The bad news is that you’ll have to go down again to reach the elevator that takes you straight to the roof.
And you guessed it, there’s another turret waiting for you, so you need to follow the same strategy to get past it. The problems won’t end there. After defeating yet another turret, you’ll reach some kind of lobby where you need to hold your position for a couple of seconds while waiting for the elevator. The most complicated part is that there’s no clear way to take cover, so you’ll need to be prepared to start shooting in both directions until the elevator reaches your floor.
Getting Out of Here
When the elevator arrives, you’ll finally reach the last part of the mission. You’ll only need to defeat a couple more enemies and get on the helicopter to escape.
The pilot will be waiting for you, depending on how long it takes you to reach the roof after taking the elevator. If the helicopter isn’t waiting there, there’s no issue at all; it will arrive only a few seconds later. Then, you can exfil and finish the mission.
