Just in time for the scary season, Bloober Team have dropped a free update out of nowhere for their original IP, and terrifying at times, single-player game Cronos: The New Dawn.
We were big fans of the game upon release, with myself saying in my review, “It’s unbelievably clear that the team behind the game spent countless hours crafting this world for us, and you’ll be rewarded for taking some time and exploring it.“, and that’s why the latest update is such a good one.
Cronos: The New Dawn Photo Mode Finally Rears Its Head
Not only is photo mode included, with more details on that below, but the free update for Cronos: The New Dawn also includes numerous fixes and tweaks to the game itself, ahead of the game’s first DLC, Cronos: Lazarus, coming later this year.
- Skippable cutscenes.
- HDR balancing.
- And more!
The Photo Mode part of the update is no small add-on either, with the addition allowing you to ‘freeze any moment in Cronos: The New Dawn, and make it yours’. You’ll be able to change exposure, contrast, bloom; add film grain, stickers and so much more besides. This is a fully developed Photo Mode that’ll allow you to craft the shots you’ve wanted to since its release all those moments ago.

Alongside the update, Bloober Team has released a new Photo Mode trailer, which you can watch here.
This won’t be the last time we hear from Bloober Team this week, as they’ve announced a week long horror celebration titled ‘Halloweek’, where they promise ‘a week filled with streams, surprises and giveaways’. What they will be is anyone’s guess, but expect more updates for your favourite horror games, at the very least.
