Bloober Team has just dropped its latest free update for Cronos: The New Dawn, which includes the much-asked-for Photo Mode, but is something else on the horizon? With the self-described ‘Halloweek’ under way for the studio, we expect many more surprises and updates for its games, but after a tweet teasing something else, maybe we’re in for a real surprise?
A Valor Mortis x Cronos Crossover Inbound?
Taking to X earlier today, October 26th, Michał Azarewicz, the Brand Manager for One More Level, teased something more. One More Level has only just released Valor Mortis, the Napoleonic Wars-set first person Soulslike, which during our review we couldn’t have heaped more praise on. Liam Magee had plenty of good things to say, including:
“…the actual design of the world was something to behold, as you often ended up looking out across vast landscapes that looked completely untouched by human hands or sometimes wandering into burning villages like something out of a fantasy horror film, and combining these two aesthetics scratched an itch I never knew I had.“
To say both Valor Mortis and Cronos: The New Dawn share captivating and incredibly well designed worlds is an understatement, and that’s why there’s so much excitement for the tease from Azarewicz.

Whether this is an in-game crossover, as one user posited, a business partnership, which One More Level were very adept at, partnering with multiple different game releases in Steam bundles (including with Cronos: The New Dawn already) or just a simple trip to a neighbouring studio, with them both being Polish-based in Kraków, is anyone’s guess, but it wouldn’t be outside the realms of possibility for it to be something based around the studio’s most recent releases.
Exactly how this would present itself considering the diametrically opposed settings of the two IPs is harder to say. Maybe some unique costumes, a non-canon quest or ‘just’ another bundle? Hopefully we don’t have long to find out.
