When it comes to Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy, one of the main things you will be doing is avoiding the Novices that are lurking around the game world as they attempt to hunt you down and murder you. To do this, you will need to use quite a few different mechanics, so we are here to help you know what to do and what not to do.
How to Avoid the Novices in Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy
Although the Novices are quite slow enemies and simply walk around the game world aimlessly looking for you, once they do see you, they can definitely pick up the pace and chase you down, so if you aren’t a fan of being chased by people who are looking to harm you and other things, then don’t worry, as we are here to help.
Don’t Sprint Like a Lunatic
Even though sprinting is a part of the game, we do not recommend simply running around the entire game world of Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy, and the reason behind this is because the Novices can hear pretty much everything you can do.
What we mean by this is that every time you run, barge through a door, open a door, and so on, it will aid the Novices in finding you and continuing to hunt you down, so being as stealthy as possible is your best choice.
Use Distraction items

Throughout Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy, you will often find items within drawers and cupboards that are highlighted in gold, and these are throwable items that you can use to distract the Novices once they are thrown.
Because these items are quite common, we recommend that you use these whenever you can to take the Novices away from you and the pathway that you are looking to move into. A bonus use for these items is that you can lure out the Novices from their hiding places, as yes, they can hide, and they can be very deadly if you don’t find them.
So to do this, if you suspect one of the Novices is hiding in a room with you, you can simply throw a distracting item, and it will lure them out of their hiding place, ensuring you don’t get caught by them.
Turn Your Light Off
Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy is a very realistic game when it comes to the Novices as they notice pretty much everything you do when they are near you. If you open a door, they hear it; if you run around, they will hear it, and the worst of all, if your light is on, they can see it.
For most gamers, they have often been taught that a light in a game is a necessity, and games are often forgiving and allow the player to keep their light on even in stealth games. However, Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy is not that kind to players, and instead the Novices will always notice when your light is on when they are nearby, and they even call you out for it, helping you to remember in the future that your light is a big giveaway.
Hide When You Hear Voices

Most of the time, while you are exploring the mansion in Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy, you will often be on your own with only the voice of the main character, Susan, to keep you company and narrate what is happening around you, but sometimes while exploring, you will hear the Novices behind doors as they talk to themselves.
If you do hear them, find a hiding place as quickly as you can, and that doesn’t mean it has to be a literal hiding place like hiding under a bench or inside a cupboard; you can simply hide behind walls and scenery to avoid their watchful eyes as well if this is your way to play.
So treat their voices like an early warning system; if you hear a Novice shouting nearby, then that means they are nearby, so crouch, turn your light off, and sneak around till you can comfortably hide.
