You’ll be introduced to Yu’er not long after dropping off the cart during the first boss fight with The Hunt, Hunter of the Order. She’ll be hiding behind a rock, scared for her life and begging you to help her father, and the village she ran from. Phantom Blade Zero has a lot of moments like these, and naturally you’re going to want to go there and help.

Later on, you’ll have made it to the Outpost, where numerous people are sat, including some Mandate soldiers, who will tell you about the Axemaster. You’ll need to beat him, both for the main story and the Four Fierce Axes Tale, but once you do, you’ll find Yu’er also in the Outpost, not far from Forge. Speak to her, and she’ll mention how she wants to become the village healer, and ask you to find three herbs for her to complete one of the healing recipes.

If you’re here, you’re likely struggling to find these three herbs, but don’t worry, by the end of the guide, you’ll know exactly where they are, and how to complete the Apprentice Healer Tale in Phantom Blade Zero.

How to Complete the Apprentice Healer Tale in Phantom Blade Zero

As already mentioned, to complete this tale you’re going to need to find the three herbs, which unfortunately are spread across the entire Weeping Creek Valley are. They will appear on your map, but finding how to get to them can be difficult. That’s why we’re here.

Herb #1 – Blood-Stopper Vine

“Its vines are slender yet resilient. The dark crimson sap that seeps from them when snapped is known to stem bleeding.”

This is probably the easiest of the three herbs to find. Right after accepting the quest from Yu’er, and making your way back to the Axemaster’s arena and using the Dread Axe to destroy the chained, wooden gate, you’ll go up a hill and come across your third meeting with The Hunt, Hunter of the Order once again. After he’s teased and taunted you, explore and pick up any items you may want to, and then go through the archway to the top right of the area.

You’ll have the option of several different directions to go, but for the herb, you’re going to want to go down the hill, or jump off the bridge, to the stream below. There’s several enemies here, including a particularly strong dual-wielding enemy, so get rid of them, and then right at the end of the stream lies the Blood-Stopper Vine, the first herb needed for the Apprentice Healer Tale.

Herb #2 – Congealeaf

“True to it’s name, the leaves are thick and supple, releasing a faint, refreshing fragrance when crushed.“

The second herb is quite a bit further on. You’ll have finally beaten The Hunt for good, unlocking his weapon and means for traversing. Head to the top of the tower nearby the Friendly Shadow Warden, and then go towards the mast area and climb up. The Sha-Chi Tower Base Camp Gate Key will be here. Grab that and head back to almost the beginning of this area, where the panicked man was stood by the locked gate. Unlock the door and head inside.

Now you’re looking for the Rusty Loong Key, which is just inside this encampment. Head forward and then right into the house, look for the captain. The key is nearby in a chest. Now take the key and head over the nearby bridge, and keep going straight.

The second herb is beyond the bridge, and surrounded by enemies. Use the wall-run and jump over the gap, then kill all the enemies before picking up the Congealeaf off the ground. If you can’t find it, look for the door in the wall, and a big orange item on the floor.

Herb #3 – Blemish Goldweed

“It’s slender leaves curl gently at the edges, like willow leaves touched with dew.”

Not long after the bridge will be a door in the rockface, and this is right beside second herb, on its right.

This is where the Rusty Loong Key is for. Head all the way through the cave until you hit daylight, and you’ll see a giant Dragon statue emanating a red glow. Turn right, move a few feet and there’s the Blemish Goldweed on the floor. It’s hard to miss, once you know where it is.

Return to Yu’er

Once you have the three Herbs, use the nearest Bell to fast travel back to the Outpost to see Yu-er, and give her them. She’ll be incredibly appreciative of you, and after a small chat with her, she’ll reward you for your help with the Medicine Case accessory, which increases healing by 20%. You’d be silly not to use this, especially with some of the bosses you’ll come across shortly.

And that’s it! You now know every step to complete the Apprentice Healer Tale in Phantom Blade Zero, what rewards you’ll get, and why you should do it!
