The Crimson Forest is the second main area of Phantom Blade Zero, and while huge and seemingly endless, is a pretty linear one. Far more linear than Weeping Creek Valley, anyway. You’ll have passed by Quick Hand Zhang in the cell high above the ground, and the Hua Qianxiao, The Sword Fanatic boss fight will be a distant memory. Now you’re having to deal with new enemies, poisonous clouds and a winding road to nowhere, it seems.
If you’re here, you’ve found the tunnel and dungeon nearby the Outlaw Trap in the Crimson Forest, and you’re wondering how to go inside. Don’t worry, we have everything you need to know, including the Crimson Forest Tunnel Crank location and how to get there.
Crimson Forest Tunnel Crank Location
You’ll be glad to know that the Crimson Forest Tunnel Crank really isn’t that far from the dungeon. Unlike other puzzles in the game, most notably, the Cell Door in Weeping Creek Valley, it’s a rather easy one, but if you’re not paying attention, you can, and most likely will, miss it.
From the dungeon door, head right, and you’ll see two enemies, one on foot and the other on horseback. Kill them, and then you can either head up the hill or go right, into a cave (in front of which the third Memory Flower sits).
Go into the cave, past the dying thief, and towards the shadow at the end. It’s one of the new huge enemies, with swords for arms and a rolling attack that’ll mess you up. Kill both him and the two wolves, then go to the orange item on the floor.
This is the Crimson Forest Tunnel Crank!
As we said, it’s not far from the entrance whatsoever. Pick it up and head back the way you came and to the tunnel entrance. Put the Crimson Forest Tunnel Crank in place, and the grate will move and you’ll be able to get inside.
Before you drop down and continue your main story mission, I’d suggest going up the hill to the left of the cave. At the top will be a thief tending a fire, whom you should kill and then read his note he drops.
Pay careful attention to the note, as it’ll come in handy for the Honor Among Thieves Tale you’ll start from picking it up!
