Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Director’s Open to an Incredible Possibility Fans Never Expected

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Director’s Open to an Incredible Possibility Fans Never Expected

The gaming community had high hopes for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy and Square Enix has delivered a great introduction and middle chapter thus far. While game development can be time-consuming, director Naoki Hamaguchi realized how much this franchise means to the player base and is interested in branching it further after the remake trilogy is wrapped up.

Square Enix spent the last four years working on Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and the final product was worth the wait. However, director Naoki Hamaguchi revealed that he and his colleagues are working hard to wrap up the remake trilogy as fast as possible so they can tell more stories beyond Cloud and the party.

After the success of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the gaming community is eager to know if this chapter will receive a brief DLC episode akin to the introduction of Yuffie through Intergrade. Hamaguchi understands the demand for more content; however, as a game director, he feels that the player base is interested in seeing how this remake trilogy will end rather than another expansion to bridge the gap between Rebirth and part 3.

So that’s why we’ve decided not to focus the development resources on creating additional extra episodes for DLC at the moment. We really are putting all our efforts into getting the third game out as quickly as we can. So for the moment, that’s where we’re focusing our time.

While it is sad to see it all end, this does not necessarily mean that there are no more stories to tell set in the remake trilogy. Hamaguchi is adamant about releasing the final chapter as quickly as possible so he and his team can move on and work on other projects featuring different characters instead.

I want it [Remake Chapter 3] to come out as quickly as possible, and then move on maybe to look at some other stories, dig a bit deeper.

The gaming community was left heartbroken after the ending of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and it would make sense for Square Enix to follow up immediately.

Once the remake trilogy is over, the developers can freely explore other concepts and give the gaming community more content.
