Despite not winning Game of the Year, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is still a work of art, and fans have nothing but praise. Square Enix thought it would be a great holiday treat to officially announce the game will be heading to PC early next year. After being tethered to the PlayStation 5 for the past few months, PC players can continue their unknown journey in this new and exciting chapter following Cloud and the party.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Is No Longer a PlayStation 5 Exclusive

Square Enix thought it would be a great idea to remake the original Final Fantasy game on modern hardware but decided to add a creative twist to redefine the meaning of a remake. The first part of the remake trilogy was released for the PlayStation 4 and later ported to PC so it would make sense for Final Fantast 7 Rebirth to follow suit. The Game Awards 2024 proved to be the perfect event to officially announce this port and PC fans can now pre-order the game ahead of time.

While Sony Interactive Entertainment and Square Enix had a great working relationship and agreed to release new Final Fantasy titles to the PlayStation platform for a limited time, this likely harmed the game’s chances of selling well. Perhaps this PC port will reach the numbers the game developers expected, and this is a good opportunity for more fans to experience this epic tale and the boatload of optional content.
