The gaming community finally got its first glimpse at Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, an exciting new IP from the creators of Uncharted, The Last of Us, and many other iconic franchises. Fans were eager to see what Naughty Dog would do next after releasing a handful of remakes and remasters for this console generation in the past few years.
From classic platformers to high-octane treasure hunting to surviving the apocalypse, director Neil Druckmann proudly presents the 5th original IP set in space during the distant future. While details about the upcoming project are kept under wraps, the announcement is enough to hold the fans off until the developers can comfortably share more in the coming months.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet Is Coming to the PlayStation 5

After years of rumors and speculations, Naughty Dog presented Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet as the last special surprise for the 10th anniversary of The Game Awards. The announcement trailer started with an in-game historical quote akin to the introduction of each Uncharted game, and viewers were thrust into the vacuum of space to meet Jordan A. Mun played by Tati Gabrielle in her shuttle.
Armed with a submachine gun and powerful glowstick, Jordan is a bounty hunter who doesn’t back down from any fight. Despite the lack of solid confirmation, it is evident that Eternals and Obi-Wan Kenobi star Kumail Nanjiani is part of the ensemble along with screenwriter Halley Gross as Jordan’s handler.
Naughty Dog has always pioneered in delivering grounded and human stories; however, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is a step in the right direction with fun and exciting gameplay. Perhaps this new IP will combine the best aspects of older franchises and add an original spin to the familiar setting of space as a bounty hunter.
