Epic Games made the right move to bring back Fortnite OG and it has given legacy players a reason to boot up the game as it takes a stroll down memory lane. The earliest version of the game was unlike any other and no one knew better at the time which became a learning curve for even the most competitive player. The game has advanced since then and this new/old update brought the community back to square one.

The gaming community was eager to experience Fortnite for the first time many years ago and it was a mixed baggage for most players. Some were able to adapt on the fly and learned the ropes quickly while some struggled to keep up and became target practice for sweaty players. Epic Games has added a few improvements to gameplay like new mechanics, healing items, weapons, and more since then and it is great to see the developers remember the game’s humble beginnings while authentically recapturing how players felt back then.

Most players would get into a lobby and feel lucky if they could go for a mile without being shot at. At the time, the game was slowly building momentum and the number of daily active players would grow gradually. Apart from the harrowing experience of dying immediately, some players forged friendships that are still going strong today.

The game’s launch version wasn’t perfect and some players didn’t have a great first experience; however, it did leave a lasting impact that continued to draw the community back and grow alongside it. The decision to take the players back to the original chapter is excellent from a business perspective and shows how the game resonated with the player base.
