Red Dead Redemption is arguably one of Rockstar Games’ best franchises in recent memory, alongside the Grand Theft Auto series. The gaming community became invested in John Marston’s story as a father trying to protect his family, and after an equally impressive prequel featuring his past and Arthur Morgan’s story.
As a major title, fans hoped to see the prequel receive the remaster treatment for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S; however, this doesn’t seem to be a priority for the developers. Rumors and speculations have circulated on the internet, and there is a slim chance that it may be a possibility after one of the stars is hyping an upcoming announcement in the next few days.
Red Dead Redemption Star Hypes Up an Upcoming Announcement

It is rare to see voice actors or motion capture performers take time from their busy schedule to interact with the gaming community. Rob Wiethoff played John Marston in both Red Dead Redemption games and took the time to stream his experience on his Twitch channel. Wiethoff is a man of the people and knew how to please his audience by performing impressive feats, such as shooting a hat mid-air without using the Dead Eye targeting system, to showcase his pinpoint accuracy.
Wiethoff used this channel as a way to interact with fans and even hype up an upcoming announcement in the coming days. The gaming community has no clue what Wiethoff is hyping, but it could be the long-rumored next-gen version of Red Dead Redemption 2 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and the Nintendo Switch 2.

"The news that I have to share – and I won't be the only one sharing it – I cannot wait for you to know what's going on."

While Wiethoff didn’t provide any specifics other than this news could be dropped by the end of the week, he is visibly ecstatic about what is to come. Whatever he is hyping up could be anything at this point; however, there is a possibility that Rockstar Games might be working on more Red Dead Redemption content, such as a DLC or a new sequel.
