Red Dead Redemption was a different kind of project for the Grand Theft Auto developers, and it was a breath of fresh air. Instead of causing mayhem in modern times, players took a stroll down memory lane as they filled the boots of an outlaw turned rancher to do the government’s bidding.
The idea of playing a cracked gunslinging cowboy appealed to the masses, but one voice actor proved he was the real deal. The developers included a neat trick to make shooting much easier and convenient, but Rob Wiethoff didn’t need it to impress his viewers.
Rob Wiethoff Wows Impressed His Viewers During His Red Dead Redemption Livestream

One of the more iconic features in the original Red Dead Redemption game is the ability to slow down time before taking a shot. This feature was called the Dead Eye targeting system, and it can come in clutch during intense shootouts. Players can manually mark their targets to get clean kills and end fights fast. Rob Wiethoff played John Marston in both titles and decided to live stream the first game. Wiethoff impressed his viewers with his pinpoint accuracy without using the special in-game mechanic.

Wiethoff reached a main story mission where his character must shoot a hat in the air with Dead Eye. Marston is known to be a cracked gunslinger, and Wiethoff decided to do the objective without following the game’s instructions. Whether it was luck or skill, there is no denying that Wiethoff did an incredible job showing off John’s skills.
Never did. It's supposed to show the skill of the protagonists

This feat impressed both viewers and players, who then realized it was possible to progress the story without Dead Eye. It is easy to forget that the original Red Dead Redemption was released 15 years ago, and it holds up well today. Wiethoff is playing the remastered version on PC and just showed that there are more things to discover.
