In a week of constant gaming news, with big, little, and everything in between announced, it’s easy to miss some of the diamonds in the rough. Revealed at The Game Awards 2024, Dispatch could definitely be characterised as such.
Featuring Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul, The Last of Us 2’s Laura Bailey, and more besides, Dispatch puts players in the boots of a former superhero, Robert Robertson, better known as Mecha Man. Robert is now in charge of a rehabilitation program for ex-supervillains and must manage a dysfunctional team of misfit heroes.
Per Adhoc Studio:
Players’ task is to dispatch this chaotic crew on missions across Los Angeles while balancing their superpowers with their quirks, flaws, and personal baggage. Every choice affects the outcome, and oftentimes in an unpredictable way.
The cast of the game isn’t the only heavyweights involved, though, with the creative team behind the project full of expertise and unique projects. Award-winning writers and directors of Tales from the Borderlands and The Wolf Among Us are leading the charge, so expect a story that’ll hit you in the stomach and make you cry one moment, and then make you belly laugh the next.
Described as “a superhero workplace comedy where choices matter”, the trailer below goes some lengths to highlight exactly what will be in store for players when it releases later this year, but as part of Steam Next Fest, Adhoc Studio is treating players to an early slice of the game in a Dispatch demo, available right now! How will you try to save the world? And who will you include in your team? Are you ready to take on the role?
Dispatch is set to release later this year on PC via Steam. Players can play the demo and wishlist the game now, join the official Discord, and follow AdHoc Studio on Bluesky, X, and Instagram for the latest updates.
