Overwatch 2 Takes One Final Swipe at Marvel Rivals with New Trailer, Hero and Mode

Overwatch 2 Takes One Final Swipe at Marvel Rivals with New Trailer, Hero and Mode

It has been a busy few weeks for Overwatch 2 with its midseason 13 patch that brought along with it plenty of new and old customization options as well as old game modes like the Overwatch: Classic game mode, which allowed users to play with the original roster as well as play in the 6v6 game mode, but now Overwatch 2 fans are looking to the future as a new character has been revealed.

Overwatch 2 has Announced a Brand-New Hero That’s Playable for a Short Time

Thanks to a recent trailer that has gone live on the official Overwatch 2 Twitter account, gamers have now received a short animated trailer revealing the next Tank character that is coming to the game, and it already looks like it is going to bring chaos.

This new character is called Hazard, and they aren’t coming to the game alone as they are also bringing with them a brand-new faction called the Phreaks, which will likely spend most of their time in the game lore; however, this new character has already garnered a lot of attention from the fan base as it looks to have a unique story as well as a chaotic set of abilities that will be revealed soon.

Even though this character’s abilities haven’t been announced, the animated trailer does provide a small amount of insight into his abilities. After being imbued with a resource called Vanadium, Hazard receives crystal-like and energy-like abilities that look like they will be fun to play with.

During the animated trailer, we can see that he is able to create a block of Vanadium, similar to how Mei can create an ice wall, create a pincer-like weapon on his arm, which in the trailer he uses to smash into the ground, shoot spikes out of his back, creating a hail of thorns that fall onto enemies and even power up his weapon arm.

However, this is only an animated trailer and doesn’t provide a full-view of these abilities in action, but for those who are around between November 22nd and November 25th, you will be able to try out Hazard for a limited time and see if he is the tank character that you have been waiting for!

With the 6v6 mode permanently coming back to Overwatch 2 on December 10th, this would be the perfect opportunity for Activision Blizzard to mess around with the meta of the game by introducing a new character that could change the flow of combat, as it looks to compete with Marvel Rivals, which releases on December 6th and could take the attention away from Overwatch 2 if they can’t keep the game fresh.
