Days Gone is undoubtedly an underrated PlayStation gem that did not receive the same treatment as most first-party exclusives. The gaming community had a complicated relationship with this open-world zombie game and for good reason. The game was poorly optimized at launch and Bend Studio took its sweet time to iron out the wrinkles.
Unfortunately, despite the eventual shift in public opinion, the damage had already been done and the hopes of a sequel were dead in the water. Fans were vocal about their interest in a sequel, but it seemed PlayStation was not, however, the developers could be up to something after their latest cryptic post.
Will There Be Days Gone 2?

After the messy launch on the PlayStation 4, Days Gone drew the shortest straw and while it was harsh for the developers, it was justified. Sony Interactive Entertainment had built a reputation for releasing great first-party exclusives for the PlayStation platform, so aligning this game alongside positively reviewed games would cause problems.
Bend Studio is confirmed to be working on a new project unrelated to its previous project and Sony has shown no interest in reviving the franchise. However, the studio’s official X(formerly Twitter) page jumped in on the recent ‘Mustard’ trend and this is as close as fans could get to a potential acknowledgment of a sequel.

Other accounts of video game developers decided to jump on the bandwagon and perhaps Bend Studio saw the opportunity to interact with the hardcore Days Gone community and stoke the fire somewhat. There is no telling whether there are discussions of a potential sequel or if developers are recycling old images to keep up with the trend.
Nevertheless, the gaming community wants to see how the cliffhanger ending of Days Gone will play out in a sequel. The developers have yet to share any new details of their upcoming project and there is a sliver of hope that Sony could reconsider their plans and give this franchise another chance to thrive.
